It is our hope that children begin to experience worship at an early age…but each child is different in his or her ability, and each parent has different needs to be able to worship. Therefore, Fort Hill offers the following options for children on Sunday mornings and during other special worship services.
8:30 am Nursery Care
All children newborn – kindergarten are welcome to stay in Room 101 for our early worship nursery. Staffed by two paid nursery workers, this room holds a little something for all ages as well as two energetic and child-loving workers. Due to space limitations, we ask that only those children Kindergarten and younger come to the nursery.
10:45 am Nursery Care
Fort Hill offers care for children during 10:30 am worship in age-appropriate rooms in our lower education building.
Newborn – established walkers are cared for by trained nursery workers as well as rotating church adult volunteers in Room 117 located downstairs in our education building. This nursery is equipped for rocking, swinging, playing, reading, and a large amount of nurture and attention from a loving and capable staff.
Established walkers – 2 year olds are cared for by trained nursery workers as well as rotating church adult volunteers in Room 101 of our education building. Children in this room will find lots of age-appropriate manipulatives, books, and workers and volunteers who take time to get down on the floor and interact with our children.
Two and Three year olds* enjoy interactive play through centers in Room 107 of our education building. Rotating church adult volunteers assisted by some of our youth help ensure safety and care for our children while they play together. Each week near the end of the extended session, one of our volunteer music staff come in to sing a variety of Bible songs with our children.
Four and Five year olds* remain in church through the time for children, then gather in Room 209 in our upper education building to explore a variety of Bible songs to help cultivate a joy of singing and familiarity with Bible stories and principal. Then following their music time, they focus on one aspect of worship education before ending in a time of fellowship (supervised by rotating church volunteers) in Room 111 located on the lower floor of our education building.
*Beginning at 3 years, all children follow the school cut-off calendar in determining their Sunday School class.
Things to Note:
Parents should provide diaper bags with supplies and snacks as needed.
Volunteers and nursery workers are trained in Child Protection Policy procedures.
