Our Session

The Session of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church consists of our pastor, our associate pastors, and the elders in active service. All members of the session, including the pastor and associate pastors, are entitled to vote. The Session is governed by the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Much of what our session does is related to administrative and regulatory functions, which are ordinarily performed at our monthly meetings. Other “program functions” are carried out with the help of our sessional ministries.

Our Deacons

At Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, a group of elected, ordained, and installed members of our congregation serve as deacons in geographically situated Circles of Care. When cares, concerns, and joys occur, deacons provide support to members of their assigned Circle of Care. They also encourage fellowship, foster a sense of community, and share the love of God with others.

Additionally, deacons serve by supporting three major Congregational Care Ministries and their ministry teams: Ministry of Compassion (Flower, Bereavement Meals, and Special Receptions), Ministry of Witness (Homebased Communion, Membership, and Visitation); and Ministry of Service (Medical Healthcare and Mental Health Awareness and Training).
