Exploring Membership
Discovering Faith Luncheon
If you are interested in joining Fort Hill Presbyterian Church’s community of faith or have questions about the church, we invite you to attend our Discovering Faith Luncheon.
The luncheon is specially designed to help prospective and recent Fort Hill members learn about our congregation, its beliefs, traditions, government and programs. It is a safe place to ask questions about faith, questions about transitioning from another congregation or even non-belief, questions about raising a child in the church, or questions about congregational care.
Discovering Faith Luncheons are offered about four times a year. The luncheon typically follows worship service and lasts a couple of hours. Childcare is available for parents with younger children.
After attending a Discovering Faith Luncheon, prospective members will attend a New Member Sunday where they will meet with the Session of the church in order to join. New Members are introduced and welcomed during the worship service on New Member Sunday.
New members are assigned a guide from the Membership Ministry team and a Deacon to help new members get involved in the life of the church. Members are also assigned to a “Circle of Care,” a supportive group of members who live in the member’s geographic area.

We encourage prospective members to attend the Discovering Faith Luncheon.
Prospective members meet with Session on a New Member Sunday following the Discovering Faith Luncheon to profess their faith and affirm the intention to become faithful members of this congregation.
Three Ways To Join
- Profession of Faith: for new Christians who profess their faith for the first time and desire to be baptized.
- Reaffirmation of Faith: for Christians who have been baptized and were a member of a church at one time but no longer hold membership in a church.
- Transfer of Letter: for Christians who are members of another church and wish to move their membership.

- Grow Disciples: Grow in study of scriptures and prayer. Discover your God-given gifts and be equipped for service.
- Meet Human Needs: Share the good news by telling others, serving others, working for peace, justice, and freedom. Give and support the Church by praying, giving money, and time and talents.

Visit and Worship With Us
Visitors are always welcome at worship services, fellowship activities, and classes. You’re invited to join us on Sundays to worship and take part in various faith formation activities for all ages. We also offer plenty of opportunities to gather and fellowship throughout the year.
