Living Stones
On Sunday, November 15, we will be celebrating Stewardship Dedication Sunday. Our theme this year is “Living Stones.” Fort Hill is a Clemson church where people love God, love each other, love being here and love serving this town. It is a church built with stone. Jesus Christ is the cornerstone. Our strategic plan provides steppingstones to guide us for the next five years. We, the congregation, are the “Living Stones” that support Fort Hill’s mission to Glorify God, Grow Disciples and Meet Human Needs.
As Clemson and the surrounding community continue to grow through 2030 and beyond, Fort Hill’s “Living Stones” are called to respond faithfully and intentionally. Building on our strengths, we will respond by deepening and extending our ministries and hospitality so that more people may grow as disciples and share God’s love.
Fulfilling our mission requires resources to serve our children, youth, college students, adults, and the Clemson community and beyond. We also have deferred maintenance needs, including a new HVAC system for the sanctuary and a new roof for the education building. Our strategic plan also calls for a 5% increase for mission partners who provide housing, food, and mental health care, as well as full staffing for ministries that support children and youth. The requested 2027 church budget is approximately 12% higher than 2026.
The Session would like to thank you for all you have done for Fort Hill in the past, and as 2027 approaches, we invite you to continue to support the mission of the church by making a financial pledge and prayerfully consider increasing your pledge by 12% this year. We are happy to report that we have already received commitments from the Session and Deacons. As “Living Stones,” we are built into a spiritual house and giving of time, talent and treasure is a spiritual practice.
We will “pass the plate” on November 15, so please bring your completed pledge card and place it in the offering. If you are unable to attend church on the 15th, you can pledge online.
Like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Impact Our Ministry
Fort Hill church practices generous giving because God is a generous God!
At Fort Hill, there are many opportunities to practice stewardship: sing in the choir, teach all ages in faith formation, usher on Sundays for worship, join in some of the many mission and outreach projects, or become active in one of our small groups.
Whatever form your participation takes—money, time, or talent—stewardship is essentially a spiritual exercise, an issue of faith development expressed in generosity and commitment to supporting Christ’s work in the world.
One of the most tangible ways of practicing faithful stewardship is through monetary offerings. And we ask you to pledge annually to help us build a budget that will support ongoing missions and expenses.
Supporting Our Vision
Our annual budget funds key elements of our vision, including worship, service, and nurture.
The Finance & Stewardship Ministry of Session oversees the annual budgeting process and ensures that funds are deployed in the most effective manner to fulfill our vision. The annual budget is approved by Session and presented to the congregation.
Remember Fort Hill in Your Will
Just as we are indebted to those who have gone before us, so, too, should we provide for the future of the Church. Our Endowment Committee can help you navigate this process.
Leave a memorial, in your will, to remind future generations of what God has done for us and help them grow in their faith. As part of your estate plan, please consider providing for ministries that are important to you in life. We have the Mission Endowment, University Ministry Endowment, and General Endowment.
